MUNICH, 20.02.24. Founded at the end of 2022, Crafthunt got off to a flying start. In its first year, more than 30,000 professionals registered on Europe's largest platform for construction site jobs. More than 700 companies from the construction industry such as Drees & Sommer, Otto Wulff, Stadtwerke München, BAUER Spezialtiefbau, IsoTec and Spie use Crafthunt to find the perfect addition to their teams. This shows more than clearly that the Munich start-up has hit the nerve of the times. The current study situation also underlines this. If you look at the Procore Construction Report 2023, the construction companies surveyed cited the recruitment and retention of qualified personnel as the biggest problem.

Crafthunt is relying on recruiting expert Dr. Anna Hocker to do even more justice to these latest developments. "Our solution was developed with the construction industry in mind and is therefore perfectly tailored to its specific needs. What we were still missing as a piece of the puzzle was an optimization of the matching process. In other words, which character is associated with which company," explains construction expert and Crafthunt founder Jonas Stamm. "Of course, we use specially designed and AI-supported algorithms for our matching. But we can't really replicate sympathy and the 'human factor' even with the latest technology. That's why we now have Dr. Anna Hocker on board," adds AI expert at Crafthunt, Dr. Patrick Christ.

"It is precisely this human contact between entrepreneurs and candidates that I focus on in my work. I am very much looking forward to working with my team to ensure smooth applications and qualified profiles, but above all to promote the exchange between employers and suitable applicants," emphasizes Dr. Anna Hocker. "Not every candidate fits every company - even if the facts (may) speak for it," adds Dr. Hocker. At Crafthunt, she will bring together the experience and skills of applicants with the needs of companies. Thanks to her more than 10 years of operational experience in HR, the recruiting expert knows exactly what is important here. Over the last few stages of her career, Dr. Hocker has gained many insights into organizational development, people strategy and recruiting, which she is now using to further advance the up-and-coming Munich-based start-up.

Dr. Anna Hocker completed her doctorate at the Institute for Technology, Innovation & Entrepreneurship at the Technical University of Dortmund on the subject of Entrepreneurial Behavior; one of her research projects was dedicated to recruiting for start-ups. She completed her Master of Science in Management and Computer Science at the Technical University of Munich and her Bachelor of Science in Management at WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management. She also recently completed a systemic coaching course at the Institute for Applied Psychology, the content of which will also be useful for developing employees, qualifying candidates and negotiating with clients.

Dr. Hocker worked as a consultant at McKinsey & Company for five and a half years, primarily in the People and Organizations Practice. There she was able to support well-known international high-tech companies in the development and implementation of their people strategy and, from this perspective, developed IPOs, large mergers and corporate start-ups, among other things. Dr. Anna Hocker then worked at the executive search firm Spencer Stuart, where she co-led the Digital Practice Germany and searched for C-level positions, in particular for private equity or venture capital-backed software companies. She also helped to build up various start-ups on a temporary or freelance basis, including Lazada in Southeast Asia, which was then part of Rocket Internet and is now part of Alibaba, and Stoik, for whose market entry in Germany she set up and implemented the people strategy. She gained her first construction experience almost 15 years ago during an internship at Hochtief.
