SHK+E ESSEN will take place at Messe Essen in around a year's time from March 17 to 20, 2026. Preparations for the trade fair for sanitation, heating, air conditioning and electrics are already in full swing. The initial layout of the halls is now available and exhibitors are now receiving their placement proposals. Sanitation objects, sanitation installations and water technology will be offered space in Halls 6, 7 and 8 for a complete representation of the sanitation sector. For the first time, the electrical range will be directly connected to the heating technology in Hall 3 in order to promote synergies between the system components. Suppliers of ventilation and air-conditioning technology will be presenting their products in Halls 1 and 2. The themes of innovation and information as well as tools, factory equipment and mobility will occupy Hall 2 and the Galeria.
“The initial planning is an important milestone for us, as we can then talk to interested exhibitors about their specific placements. Overall, things are already looking very good for this early stage,” explains Torben Brinkmann, Project Manager of SHK+E ESSEN. After challenging years for the industry, many are now looking ahead with anticipation. With a new political legislative period in Germany, hopes are growing for stable framework conditions that will strengthen the trade and industry in the long term. “SHK+E ESSEN remains a central industry meeting point that promotes innovation, intensifies exchange and provides impetus for future-oriented market development,” adds Brinkmann. The trade fair is sponsored by the SHK NRW trade association; other partners are the Federal Association of the German Heating Industry (BDH) and figawa. In addition, there is a close exchange with the VDMA Sanitary Engineering and Design as a representative of the sanitation industry.
Focus on innovations in heating technology, energy and smart sanitation solutions
The focus of the upcoming SHK+E ESSEN will include hybrid heating systems and heat pumps, cross-sector solutions for electrical heat and energy generation, cooling and ventilation systems and smart sanitation technology. The trade audience consists primarily of practitioners from the trade, technical building services planners, architects, dealers and industry contacts. Most recently, around 30,000 visitors from 37 nations took part in the trade fair, which was a significant increase on the previous event. SHK+E ESSEN is characterized by high visitor quality and a large number of decision-makers. Three quarters of the visitors bring purchasing and procurement expertise with them.
Interested exhibitors who would like to secure one of the stand spaces for the coming period can find the application documents at www.shke-essen.de. In addition, the SHK+E ESSEN team will be on site again this year at many different trade fairs and events to seek personal discussions with industry participants. For example, a visit to the ISH in Frankfurt am Main has been scheduled for the team. Appointment requests can be sent in advance by e-mail to shke-essen@messe-essen.de.
